Bruce Nelson is a long-standing leading figure in the branding and advertising industry. Having recently been chosen as Vice Chairman at marketing giant Omnicom, Nelson brings over 25 years of valuable advertising experience to the board.
Prior to his latest appointment, Nelson was most recently Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer for Interpublic Group. During his five year occupancy at the company, he spearheaded the launch of Magna Global, the first aggregated media negotiating company, and Magna Global Entertainment, a programming unit for producing original shows for major advertisers.
Amongst his many achievements at Interpublic Group, Nelson introduced a pioneering business model whereby multiple companies looked after the tailored marketing needs of a single client. The first and the most extensive network he built of this nature was for Bank of America, involving 16 different Interpublic Group companies.
Prior to his time at Interpublic Group, Nelson’s involvement in other leading global advertising conglomerates included Vice Chairman of Young & Rubicam, Inc. and holding various senior executive positions at McCann-Erickson Worldwide throughout his 19 years there, including Executive Vice President, Director of Worldwide Accounts, EVP/Director of Strategy for Worldwide Accounts, and EVP/Executive Creative Director.
Currently also serving as a Director of Prince Sporting Goods, Inc., Nelson has lectured in Branding at the Yale School of Management, the Columbia Business School, and the Columbia Business School Executive Education Program.
